Empty-handed, I kneel in devotion. Bony knees remind me of the sacrifice of humility. Though I am destitute, I am not empty. My head spins with thoughts and ideas. My heart spills over with desire. I surrender all of these treasures I’ve been holding.
There is nothing worth withholding. I freely surrender it all. With no expectations of payment in return, I place all my love on this altar. Life is a ritual. I am the prayer.
